Kaelyn
Mother, teacher, student
Hi, I'm Kaelyn.
I'm a mother of twins, a wife, a homebody, and a certified yoga and meditation teacher. My life revolves around my family, and my path has been deeply shaped by motherhood - including raising my boys, who are autistic.
Yoga found me in 2012, during a time when I really needed it. What started as a single class quickly became something much more - a doorway back to myself after years of feeling disconnected and overwhelmed. It was the beginning of a healing journey that would quietly change everything.
A few years later, I moved to New York City with my now husband and worked in corporate America. By day I was in the office, but outside of work, I was immersed in my practice. That's when I discovered Pure Yoga - a space that instantly felt like a sanctuary in the middle of the city's chaos. It became my home for healing, growth, and deep personal transformation.
Within my first year in New York, I enrolled in a 200-hour teacher training at Pure Yoga under the guidance of lead teachers Kay Kay Clivio and Yogi Charu. I later continued my studies with a 100-hour meditation training with Yogi Charu at Pure Yoga, and completed a 50-hour hands-on assist training at Laughing Lotus NYC with Mary Dana Abbott and Felipe Gonzalez. Each of these experiences shaped not only how I teach, but how I hold space.
Shortly after completing my training, I began teaching in Astoria, Queens, and later in Brooklyn, sharing both yoga and meditation in a variety of spaces. I also brought meditation into my corporate workplace, offering moments of pause and connection in the middle of busy workdays.
During my time in New York, I also had the opportunity to work for a yoga brand alongside two incredible women, Anna Haddad and Tanya Pergs, who took me under their wing. The time I spent learning from and working with them changed me in lasting ways.
I'm also deeply grateful for the many other studios that held me along the way - Yoga Agora, Yoga Vida, Broome Street Yoga, and Prema Yoga Brooklyn - and so many more that became part of my journey.
Shortly after bringing my babies home in Brooklyn, the world shut down. We moved to Austin, Texas, and during that time I found myself craving connection - the kind that yoga brings. I began teaching on Zoom, and it became clear this was a path I wanted to continue.
When our family made the decision to return home to Buffalo, we settled in Orchard Park and I began finding places to share my passion in person again.
I'm so grateful to Kelsey at Lunar Rei Candle Co. for giving me my first opportunity to teach locally. I was also welcomed into The Practice Buffalo by owners Lauren and Ashley, who invited me to share meditation offerings and continue growing.
Not long after, I found YogaSix Quaker Crossing and joined the team for their opening. I spent several years there teaching, connecting, and growing alongside an incredible community. The moments we shared in that space were deeply meaningful to me. It's where I truly began to find confidence in my voice and a deeper connection to what feels authentic in my teaching.
While the studio is no longer open, the impact of that community - and the relationships built there - will always stay with me.
Now, I find myself in the present moment, seeing a dream in my heart so clearly.
With divine guidance and trust in the timing of it all, I'm taking a leap of faith into this next chapter - creating something alongside my family that feels truly aligned and authentic to us.
Yoga was the beginning of my healing, and meditation deepened it in ways I never expected.
I feel guided to create a space where meditation is the focus - where we can slow down and turn inward.
I invite you to join us on this journey at Southtowns Meditation Club - a space for anyone who feels a calling in their heart to come home to themselves.
I can't wait to share this space with you and to offer what resonates so deeply within me.
May this space support you, hold you, and serve your highest good.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way - especially my husband Brad, my boys, my entire family, and my friends. Thank you for it all. You have loved me, shaped me, and prepared me for this next chapter.
